Have Fun in the Sand!
From Coach Choi:
All interested parents, we are looking forward to playing volleyball with you tomorrow (September 18), 9-12 at the sand courts. Beach Volleyball is a game you can enjoy for years especially living here in San Diego. Coach Mark came up with this idea as a fundraiser as a way to meet parents, get them involved and increase their understanding of the game. Fun times. We will meet next Saturday too from 9-12. All participants will need to sign a waiver upon arrival at the clinic. Feel free to come for part or all 3 hours.
We will host another on Saturday 9/25 and possibly 10/2 from 9-12 at Sand courts. Please email me your interest and let me know if you are a new player wanting to work on skills and knowledge or if you are more interested in just playing. We are asking for a donation of $25 per day (checks can be made to Centurion Foundation) and we can possibly get a regular weekend event going for parents. It is great fun and I hope to hear from you!
From a participant:
What a lot of fun. The coaches worked on some skills with us. Then we got to play some games. First, Vlad and I got to smack down alumni Coach Connor and Tim (well, they finished with a lot more points than us, but we hung with them through the first couple of points). Then we played some 4-on-4. It was the funnest Saturday morning I've had in a while.
Note that coaches were very sensistive to what the parents were "up for". So, regardless of your skill level (if any), they can go real simple, real gentle or full "Coach Salata" on ya.
